CHINATOWN GLOSSY PENCILS

"Our Lipstick Queen offices in New York are on the border of Chinatown and Tribeca. Everyday I get off at Canal St subway and marvel at the kookiness of the products on offer. And... one of my favorite movies is Roman Polanski's Chinatown. All of which served as inspiration for my Chinatown Glossy Pencils!! Kooky and fun with bright colours in a super sheer, super moisturising "draw on" gloss. Gloss in a jumbo-sized pencil... Welcome to Chinatown baby!" -Poppy King, Brand Founder

This glossy lip pencil comes with a jumbo-sized sharpener and the original artwork on the boxes and shade names are all inspired by the Polanski film. They're bound to make you smile as wide as a Chinatown bargain.

A fun lip colour I really like this product! It's easy to apply which is important to me, and comes in a great range of colours. The one I've been using regularly is Crime, which I love because it has more pigment than a gloss but isn't drying like many lipsticks. It's a nice smooth texture and feels nice. Like some other reviewers have said, you will need to reapply, especially if you are eating and drinking. However, I don't mind reapplying because it makes my lips feel nice again. I'm yet to try it with a pink lip liner underneath, to see if that improves its staying power. The only reason I've given it four stars is because it's a pencil; I would much prefer a retractable style because I have a habit of misplacing sharpeners and am pretty lazy. 30 October 2013
Great Gloss This is a great gloss, and lipstick queen has gorgeous colours. The only downside is that it doesnt last very long. 3 May 2012
Great colour and easy to use. This is a great blue based pink, Crime (so many colours turn orange on me), not this one. Love the pencil idea, although I haven't had to sharpen it yet, easy to use and throw in my bag. Staying power isn't great but don't mind reapplying and like the gloss come lippy feel. 16 November 2011
cool packaging i really liked the colour, it was very pigmented but still had a really glossy finish. being a pencil it was easy to apply. the product lasted quite well on me just needed to do some touch ups during the day, after eating and drinking. i used a lip liner underneath to prevent the colour bleeding. i took a star off because i found when i carried it around in my bag the lid would always come off so i would have pink gloss on everything. 8 September 2011
My Favourite beauty product! This is my favourite beauty item in my handbag! I'm addicted to the soft eyes bold lip look, so i've tried alot of different products to acheive this and the chinatown range has been the best. You still manage to get an amazing amount of colour without it being like a harsh crayon which can be very dry and chapped, it keeps your lips moisturised and soft and i've found the colour lasts ages, i'll pop it on in the morning, maybe retouch after lunch and it's fine! plus i've had loads of compliments which is always a plus for me :) My favourite is the lighter orange, as i'm fair skinned this is a very complimentary colour for me. I will continue to buy this product for as long as they make it! 10 May 2011
Gloss...but in a stick! Love this "gloss in a big crayon" -a great way to get a splash of colour, but in a nice creamy gloss texture. I find it hard to wear red lipsticks -but I got the bright red chinatown gloss (sorry can't remember the name!) and as it isn't a heavy matte colour its a red i can actually wear -the colour is not too overpowering. Having said that its still thicker than a regular lipgloss so packs a lovely colour punch! 10 May 2011
Like a crayon for grown ups I love this gloss. It appealed to me because it was chunky and looked different to other lipsticks or glosses on the market; it had flair! It certainly lived up to my expectations and thus it has earned a permanent place in my purse. The colour is less intense than a lipstick, but has more 'pow' than a gloss. 10 May 2011
Great alternative to a lip gloss or lipstick I really love these glossy pencils! The pigment is stronger than a lip gloss and I like the effect it gives more than a lipstick as the coverage isn't as intense. Also I find it doesn't have the lipstick texture that can get a bit clumped. I have also used 3 of the colour and I really like them all. 9 May 2011
Fantastic day-time lip colour I really like this product, it gives more coverage than a gloss, and has more pigment; but isn't as 'full-on' as lipstick. I use a liner underneath for real staying power, but a nice day-time option for lip colour. 24 April 2011
Highly targeted lipgloss It should be an oxymoron but these work like a highly targeted lipgloss − with a cool stain effect to boot. 5 April 2011
